We have recently updated this cottage ---- with a new kitchen with a proper hob and oven, and also replaced all the windows and even the front door ! The Forge cottage is set on our working sheep farm, on the Durham Northumberland border. Ideal for couples, or people traveling on their own, the cottage is a great location for local attractions such as Beamish Museum, Durham, Newcastle, Kilhope lead mining museum etc., but it's also great for those looking for peace and quiet and country walks !!

Angate Holiday Cottage

Angate Cottage is a delightful 2 bedroom deceptively large period cottage circa 1750, situated in the heart of the historic market town of Wolsingham, the gateway to Weardale, by the River Wear. Located 15 miles from Durham City and 17 miles from Barnard Castle. Wolsingham is a small market town looking much as it did hundreds of years ago with many stone built listed buildings, period features and links to its long history. Lovely 18th Century cottage. Family weekend retreat for 40 years. Warm, comfortable, peaceful. On Pennine Way and C2C cycle route. Walker's paradise. WIFI + smart TV with Freeview Access by steep track, unsuitable for wheelchair. 5 minutes to village shop. 4 miles Alston for supermarkets, antiques, wholefood shop, petrol, pharmacy, steam railway. Hadrian's Wall 1 hour, Northern Lakes 60 minutes, Newcastle 90 mins, Manchester 150 mins. The most relaxing place we know.

Swinburne Castle

Swinburne Castle is perfectly situated within its own beautiful parkland and gardens. Traditionally decorated, parts of the house have tremendous history dating back to the 12th century. The east wing is extremely comfortable and private, and don't be perturbed by the stone steps leading down to the vaulted cellar. In the mornings you can look forward to a delicious breakfast in the formal dining room. There is ample parking and a tennis court you are welcome to use.

The Annexe

The Annexe on High Woodside Farm is an ideal location for couples or families who want to visit the North East of England It is a 15 minute drive to Durham and a 30 minute drive to Newcastle and Sunderland a 40 minute drive. The Annexe has an open plan kitchen, diner and lounge on the ground floor with a bathroom, consisting of toilet, sink and shower and 2 bedrooms on the first floor. It is very light and modern and has a small courtyard.

Beaufront Hill Head

Built in 1780, this thick -walled cosy cottage has historic charm with modern comforts. South facing with stone walled garden, from which you can survey a spectacular view 20 miles deep and 35 miles wide over the Tyne valley. The cottage is at 700 feet above sea level and you feel you are on the roof of England. It is situated in a quiet rural location 2 miles from both Hexham and Corbridge and half an hour from Newcastle.
