The cottage is located on a farm on the outskirts of the village and gives onto a large garden, with the pool and an olive grove. It is a peaceful retreat and a great countryside base to explore Uzès, Nimes and the many picturesque villages and colourful markets around. There are lots of historical towns within a stone's throw: Avignon, Arles, Montpellier, Aigues-Mortes, or Orange are at an hour drive. Convenient spot for outdoors activities, there is also plenty around to keep kids entertained.

We have tried to retain the original character of the cottage wherever possible. It used to be the house of the Shepherd as the farm housed a herd of sheep until the mid 20th century. The cottage has a distinct rural feel and can be cosy in colder months thanks to its big wood burner.

Parking space in the large courtyard at the front. At the back a west facing terrace, looks onto the garden and pool. The pool is shared with our second holiday accommodation (located across the street) and my parents who live on the farm but hardly ever use the pool. The farm sits on 1ha (2.5acre) so it's a pretty big garden space planted with 200 olive trees which allow privacy for everyone.

Our village is a fantastic base at the crossroads between Languedoc, Provence it is an hour away from Camargue and even less from the Cevennes.
The area offers so much to do that visitors are often surprised and tend to come back to explore it further. Its landscapes are very diverse ranging from gentle rolling slopes covered with vinerards, the impressive Gardon river gorge, the typical mediterranean scrubland known as the garrigue, the marshlands of the Camargue with its flamingos, white horses and bulls to the dramatic hills of the Cevennes.
History is everywhere, the region is packed with the best preserved Roman buildings in the world, medieval walled cities and typical provencal villages.
It is easy to keep children happy: no family leaves without a trip to the infamous Haribo museum, canoeing below the Pont du Gard, boarding the old Cevennes steam train or a day at the waterpark or treetop adventure course.
