When choosing where to stay, guests want to know if they’ll be sharing the space or if they’ll have it all to themselves.

Airbnb provides three options when you list your space.

• An entire place: Guests are the only people in the space, which in addition to the sleeping area usually includes a bathroom, kitchen, and separate entrance.
• A private room: Guests have a bedroom to themselves, plus access to shared areas, which can include the entrance, bathroom, and kitchen.
• A shared room: Guests sleep in an area that may be shared with you or others, such as a room that’s divided by a partition and used by guests who booked separately.

For example, if you host an entire place and will be on the property, you might write: “We live in a separate house that shares the backyard with the guest cottage.”
